Security
Safe external links
Why it matters
A link with target="_blank" and no rel="noopener" gives the opened page access to window.opener. In older browsers it can redirect your tab to a phishing page (reverse tabnabbing).
How to fix it
- Add rel="noopener" (or rel="noopener noreferrer") to external links that open a new tab.
- Modern browsers apply noopener by default, but adding it explicitly protects older ones.
Check it with
- Link Analyzer – List every internal and external link on a page with anchor text and rel attributes.
