XML Sitemap Generator

Crawl your site and generate a ready-to-upload sitemap.xml.

About the XML Sitemap Generator

An XML sitemap lists the pages you want search engines to index. This generator crawls your site from the homepage, following internal links like a search engine, and builds a sitemap containing only pages that deserve to be in it: URLs that return 200 OK, are not noindex, and are their own canonical. Redirects, errors and duplicates are left out automatically.

Download the file, upload it to your site’s root as sitemap.xml, add a Sitemap: line to robots.txt and submit it in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Most CMSs (WordPress, Shopify, Wix) can generate sitemaps automatically – use this for static and custom-built sites.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I update my sitemap?

Whenever you add or remove pages. Dynamic sitemaps generated by your CMS update automatically, which is ideal.

Should I include images in my sitemap?

Image sitemaps can help image discovery, but standard pages are what matter most for most sites.

My site has more than 100 pages – what now?

Use your CMS’s built-in sitemap or a desktop crawler for very large sites. A sitemap index can combine several sitemap files.
