AI Search Readiness Checker
Check if ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI can access, read and quote your page.
About the AI Search Readiness Checker
People increasingly get answers from AI search – Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot – which read web pages and cite them as sources. To be cited, a page has to be accessible to those systems, readable without JavaScript and structured so a clear answer can be extracted.
This checker tests the factors you control: whether each AI crawler is allowed by robots.txt (separating search bots, which can send you traffic, from training bots, which only collect data), whether Google may show snippets, how much content is in the raw HTML, structured data, answer-friendly formatting, author and date signals, and llms.txt. There is no guaranteed way into AI answers, but these basics stop you from being invisible.
Frequently asked questions
Should I block GPTBot and other AI crawlers?
Blocking training bots is a business decision and does not affect search visibility. Blocking AI search bots (OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot) stops your pages appearing in those AI answers.
How do I get cited in AI Overviews?
The same way you rank in Google: be indexable, allow snippets, and publish clear, trustworthy content that directly answers questions. Google says no special markup is needed.
Is “GEO” different from SEO?
Generative engine optimisation builds on SEO fundamentals – crawlability, quality content, clear structure and authority – with extra attention to being quotable and accessible to AI crawlers.
