Indexability Checker
Find out whether Google can crawl and index a page – and if not, exactly why.
About the Indexability Checker
A page can only rank if search engines can crawl it (fetch it) and are allowed to index it (store it). Many different settings can block that, and they live in different places: the HTTP status code, robots.txt, the robots meta tag, the X-Robots-Tag header and the canonical tag.
This checker runs through all of them in the order a search engine would and gives a single verdict, with the exact rule responsible if something is blocking the page. It is the fastest way to debug a page that has disappeared from Google or never appeared.
Frequently asked questions
My page is indexable but not in Google – why?
Being indexable only means nothing blocks it. Google may still choose not to index pages it sees as low value or duplicate, or it may not have discovered the page yet. Check Search Console’s URL Inspection tool and add internal links.
Can I block a page with robots.txt and noindex together?
Don’t. If robots.txt blocks crawling, Google never sees the noindex tag. To remove a page, allow crawling and use noindex.
How long does indexing take?
Anywhere from hours to weeks. Submitting the URL in Search Console, linking to it from important pages and listing it in your sitemap all help.
