Open Graph & Social Preview Checker
Preview how a link looks when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, WhatsApp and Slack.
About the Open Graph & Social Preview Checker
When someone shares a link, social networks and messaging apps build a preview card from the page's Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image…). X (Twitter) also reads its own twitter: tags. Without them, the preview may show the wrong image, a cut-off title or nothing at all – and links with a strong preview get noticeably more clicks.
This checker reads the tags, verifies that the image actually loads, and shows mock previews in the style of the major networks so you can fix problems before you share. The recommended image size is 1200 × 630 pixels (1.91:1) and under about 5 MB.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Facebook still show my old image?
Facebook and LinkedIn cache previews. After fixing your tags, use Facebook’s Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn’s Post Inspector to make them fetch the page again.
Do Open Graph tags affect Google rankings?
Not directly. They control social previews, which affect click-through and sharing, and that traffic can lead to links and brand searches.
What image size should og:image be?
1200 × 630 pixels works everywhere. Keep important text and logos away from the edges because some apps crop to a square.
