Why it matters
Alt text describes images for screen readers and for search engines, and is shown when an image fails to load. Missing alt text is an accessibility barrier and a missed image-search opportunity.
How to fix it
- Add a short, specific description to every meaningful image.
- Use an empty alt="" for purely decorative images.
- Do not stuff keywords into alt text.
