Resource hints
Why it matters
Before a browser can download a file from another origin it must resolve DNS, connect and negotiate TLS. A preconnect hint starts that work early for origins you know you will need, such as a font or image CDN.
How to fix it
- Add <link rel="preconnect" href="https://fonts.gstatic.com" crossorigin> for the one or two most important origins.
- Do not preconnect to many origins. Each unused connection wastes resources.
