On-page SEO
URL structure
Why it matters
Short, readable URLs are easier to share and understand, and they hint at the page topic. Long URLs full of parameters or IDs look untrustworthy and are easier to duplicate.
How to fix it
- Use short, lowercase words separated by hyphens, e.g. /blog/seo-checklist.
- Avoid session IDs and unnecessary parameters.
- When you change URLs, add 301 redirects from the old ones.
Check it with
- URL Slug Generator – Turn titles into clean, SEO-friendly URL slugs.
- Redirect Generator (.htaccess & Nginx) – Create 301 redirect rules for Apache .htaccess and Nginx, including HTTPS and www.
