Why it matters

Hreflang tags tell search engines which language or regional version of a page to show each user. Errors can show the wrong language or ignore the tags entirely.

How to fix it

1. Link every language version to all others, including itself.
2. Use valid codes such as en, en-GB or de-AT.
3. Add an x-default for the fallback page and keep return links consistent.
