Blacklist Checker
Check whether a domain, its mail server or an IP address is on spam blacklists.
About the Blacklist Checker
Spam blacklists (also called DNSBLs or RBLs) are lists of IP addresses and domains that have sent spam or are linked to abuse. Mail servers check them before accepting a message, so a listing means your email may be rejected or go straight to spam – often without anyone telling you.
Enter a domain and this checker finds its website server and its mail servers (MX), then tests each address against more than 20 widely used blacklists, including Spamhaus, Barracuda, SpamCop, UCEPROTECT and Mailspike, and checks the domain itself on domain blacklists such as the Spamhaus DBL, SURBL and URIBL. For every listing you get a link to the list’s lookup and removal page. You can also enter a single IPv4 address.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get removed from a blacklist?
First fix the cause – usually a hacked email account, an infected device, a compromised website form or a mailing to people who did not opt in. Then use the removal link for each list. Many lists also remove addresses automatically after a period without spam.
Is a listing always serious?
It depends on the list. Spamhaus, Barracuda and SpamCop are used by many mail providers, so a listing there has real impact. Smaller lists are used less, and the Spamhaus PBL is a policy list, not a spam listing.
Why does my website IP matter?
On shared hosting your website and email often share an IP address with other customers. If one of them sends spam, the shared address can be listed and your email suffers too.
