HTTP status
Why it matters
Only pages that return HTTP 200 can be indexed. Error codes (4xx, 5xx) keep the page out of search and tell visitors something is broken.
How to fix it
- Make sure the URL returns 200 OK.
- Fix server errors (5xx) in your hosting or application logs.
- For moved pages use a 301 redirect; for removed pages a 404 or 410 is correct.
Check it with
- Bulk HTTP Status Checker – Check the status code, redirects and response time of up to 25 URLs at once.
- Redirect Checker – Trace every hop of a redirect chain with status codes and timings.
Scoring: a passed check earns its full weight, a warning half and an error none. How the SEO score works
