Content
Text-to-HTML ratio
Why it matters
A very low share of visible text compared with HTML code can signal heavy templates, bloated markup or content hidden in scripts. It is a weak signal, shown for context.
How to fix it
- Remove unused markup, inline scripts and styles where possible.
- Make sure the main content is real text in the HTML, not only in images or scripts.
Check it with
- Text to HTML Ratio Checker – Compare the amount of visible text with the size of the HTML code on a page.
Scoring: a passed check earns its full weight, a warning half and an error none. How the SEO score works
